Our Story
Built on intention, not impulse.
Luxe French Co. didn't start with a business plan. It started with a dog — and a decision to do things the right way, even when the right way is harder.
How it started
We fell in love with the breed before we understood it.
Like most people, we were drawn to French Bulldogs for the obvious reasons — the personality, the look, the way they fit into a life. But the more we learned about the breed, the more we realized how much was being done wrong. Untested dogs. Prioritized color over structure. Puppies sold without any real knowledge of what they were producing.
We decided early on that if we were going to be part of this, we were going to do it differently. That meant studying pedigrees, understanding genetics, learning what correct structure actually looks like, and building relationships with other breeders who shared the same standards.
Rico and Remi weren't chosen quickly. We spent time finding dogs that met our criteria — not just aesthetically, but genetically and structurally. The program you see today is the result of that patience.
"We're not trying to produce the most puppies. We're trying to produce the best puppies — and there's a real difference."
What we believe
The values behind every decision we make.
Health is the foundation
We test every dog in our program through Embark before any breeding takes place. We don't cut corners on health testing, and we don't breed dogs whose results put puppies at risk. This isn't optional for us — it's the baseline.
Structure matters more than color
The French Bulldog community has a color obsession that has come at a cost to the breed. We love color — but we will never sacrifice a correct topline, proper shoulder placement, or sound movement for a rare pattern. Structure determines quality of life.
Temperament is bred and shaped
Both Rico and Remi are calm, confident, and social. We believe temperament has a genetic component, and we take it seriously in our pairings. We also believe early socialization matters — every puppy we produce is handled, exposed, and prepared before they leave.
Transparency with every family
We share health results, answer questions honestly, and don't oversell what we produce. If a pairing isn't right, we say so. If a puppy isn't a fit for a particular home, we say that too. We'd rather lose a sale than place a dog in the wrong situation.
The program
Small by design.
We produce a limited number of litters per year. This is intentional. We're not trying to scale — we're trying to maintain the quality and attention that every litter deserves. Every puppy gets individual handling, early neurological stimulation, and a transition process that sets them up for success.
We're based in St. Louis, Missouri. We work with a veterinarian we trust, and we're available to the families we place puppies with long after the sale is complete. This isn't a transaction for us. It's a relationship.
If you're looking for a French Bulldog done right — you're in the right place.
We're selective about who we work with because we care about where our dogs go. If that sounds like you, we'd love to connect.
